Senior School | MT 2025 | Week 13

From David Glynn, Head of Senior School

28th November 2025

Dear Parents,

I will use this newsletter throughout the year to keep you informed of activities, trips and other events that are happening around the College.  It is worth all parents bookmarking the news page of the website, as this is where you will see more detail and some photos of these items, such as the Wills fundraising climb of Kota Kinabalu and the BISP Football that took place last weekend, as well as the IGCSE Outstanding Learner Awards.

Please can I remind parents that unless day pupils are attending an after school club they should be picked up before 5pm. The library is open until 5pm and if pupils are waiting they should be at the library or waiting in court.

The week has been busy with final rehearsals and the long-awaited Senior School production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, in which a small, innocent-looking plant from outer space makes a bid for world domination! The finale is tonight and I hope many of you managed to catch one of the performances.  Alongside a week of shows, we are busy preparing for the upcoming festive events  as well as various sporting competitions such as FOBISIA Rugby, Touch Straits and the second round of our Swimming Sprint Series, all of which will be featured in detail in the coming week’s newsletter.

Well done to all the Lower Sixth students who completed their first internal IB exam session last week. They will be receiving vital feedback on their exams from their beaks over the next week or so and it is important that they use this process to improve their knowledge and understanding in each of their subjects. Exam orders will be published on the parent portal on Monday 8th December, which will be followed by an online parent/beak meeting on Wednesday, 10th December. We look forward to discussing their exam performance but, more importantly, points for improvement for the future. The booking system for Lower Sixth parents to make appointments  is now open and will close on Monday, 8th December at 8.00pm.

Avi HB, Chris L. and Louis G. had the opportunity to attend the Edexcel Pearson and Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards events this week, held in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor respectively. They were presented with their certificates in recognition of the truly outstanding results they achieved in their IGCSEs last summer. This is well-deserved recognition of their remarkable success.

Yours sincerely,

David Glynn
