Boys Boarding
Taylor House welcomes boys as they begin their boarding journey, offering a supportive environment for those from Year 5 to Year 8 (ages 9-13). Upon completing Prep School, the boys transition to Senior School and become part of the Wills or Munawir Hill House. Throughout the academic year, the Senior Houses engage in a dynamic array of events, fostering a spirited competition with both boarding and day houses. Boys not only find a place to call home but are guided by dedicated staff and a supportive network of peers.
All boys will have comfortable rooms in which they can study, relax, socialise and sleep. Some will share rooms, while in the Sixth Form pupils have individual rooms. In addition to the living accommodation, there is a main Common Room, which is the social centre of the house and is used for indoor games (pool, board games, fussball, darts and table tennis) as well as meetings and check-ins. There is also a Prep Room, Brew Room (for boys to make themselves hot drinks and light snacks) and a music room.
I am currently boarding in a Senior boys’ boarding house and in my third year as a boarder at Marlborough. A couple of days ago, I had an interview for a potential spot as a College Prefect, and one of the questions I was asked was: “What aspect of MCM do you enjoy most?” Without hesitation, I said, “Boarding at the College".
More than a typical schedule
We offer a wide range of activities that are designed to develop important skills in leadership, communication, creativity and cooperation. Ultimately widening each boarders’ horizons and enabling them to find their niche, grow in confidence and achieve excellence in all that they do.
Boarding at Marlborough College Malaysia means pupils can participate in a whole raft of additional activities. The onsite activities and the excursions we offer are incredibly varied (over 200 activities and trips covering more than 60 different experiences). Boarding activities are designed to enrich the pupils’ school experience and ensures that their weekends are full of sociable fun pursuits that offer challenge, teamwork, learning new skills, opportunities to build lasting friendships, relaxation and simple joy.
We run a full programme of onsite activities, both indoors and outdoors, covering a variety of sports, artistic endeavours and opportunities to get in touch with nature. We also run day trips to all sorts of interesting and fun places, but also to simply unwind from the fast pace of the week. We pride ourselves on the breadth of choice we give to our boarders, there is always something for everyone to do.

Communication
We like to keep the lines of communication as open as possible at all times. It is very much a triangle between the HMs, pupils and parents. Never hesitate to get in contact regarding any school matters, as the sooner that concerns are raised, the more swiftly we can resolve them. There are plenty of opportunities for parents to contact their children throughout the week.

Health Centre
Staffed 24 hours a day by a team of Registered Nurses, the Health Centre is fully involved in the life of the College and plays a pivotal role in promoting positive health for all while treating unwell pupils.
Boarders can visit the Health Centre for routine treatments and repeat prescriptions. Emergencies and sudden illnesses are dealt with at any time. For more serious health matters, Gleneagles, the private hospital, is five minutes away.
Boys Boarding Houses
Without question, I have witnessed the boys develop many character strengths during their time in Taylor, such as: independence, compassion and tolerance. Beyond this, in the best way possible, each and every boarder’s development will be assisted through the considerable challenges of life in Taylor. Some of these will be through your personal need to continually adapt to the ever-changing environment and also more formally through weekly challenges and the fantastic weekend activities programme. I look forward to welcoming you and your son into Taylor.
