An Outstanding Boarding School Experience in Malaysia

The only authentic British boarding experience in Asia. The opportunities offered by Marlborough College Malaysia extends beyond schooling years. When your child graduates, he or she will join the school’s alumni as part of the Marlburian Club. They will also be eligible to become members of several private London clubs, opening doors for ample networking opportunities.

The three Cs are central to everything we do for boarders at Marlborough College Malaysia: Compassion, Companionship and Conversation are at the centre of a structure that supports them through their academic, emotional and physical growth.

Weekends for boarders offer an extensive programme of structured activities, social time and other opportunities to complement the busy school week.

Our boarders live in six boarding houses. Girls belong to either Iskandar, Honan or Steel House while boys belong to either Taylor, Wills or Munawir Hill.

Through our various Boarders committees and boarders’ leadership opportunities, we actively use pupil voice to adapt and enhance our boarding provision. This, coupled with our international award-winning pastoral care, ensures the boarding community is a vibrant and thriving place to be.

Weekly Boarding and Day Boarding

A Typical Weekend

Boarders at Marlborough College Malaysia enjoy a full programme of weekend activities full of sociable and fun pursuits that offer the chance to challenge themselves, work as a team, learn new skills, build lasting friendships and relax and simply enjoy time together.

We run day trips to many interesting places but also give boarders time to unwind from the fast pace of the week. We pride ourselves on the breadth of choice we give to our boarders – there is always something for everyone to do.

Weekend activities include Art master classes, BBQs, Beach clean-ups, Horse Riding, House Bake Off, Ice Skating, Laser Tag, Movie nights, Museum visits, Orphanage visits, Paintball, Pool Parties, Rock Climbing, Shopping Trips, Theatre trips and Waterparks.

Saturday Enrichment Programme

The Saturday Enrichment Programme runs from 10am-12 noon every Saturday and is compulsory for all boarders, with the exception of Sixth Form students who have lessons. Pupils choose one activity based on a range of ‘active’ or ‘creative’ pursuits, commiting to a five-week period before moving on to a different activity.

Activities in the past have included abseiling, archery, climbing, cookery, disc golf, drama, drumming, farming, mountain biking, horse riding, sailing, ceramics, orienteering and singing.

Come and visit

We would encourage you to come and visit to get a feel for what boarding at MCM is really like.

The word ‘flourish’ is taken from the Positive Education framework that is embedded into all that we do at Marlborough College Malaysia. We want our boarding community to flourish, to reach their potential, in all of their endeavours. Of course, this applies to academic work. But we also recognise that experiences outside of the classroom play a significant role in helping our boarders to develop into the well rounded young men and women that we all want them to be when they leave us.
