New Graduate Assistants and Gaps for 2025

Kaitlin Howard

This is Kaitlin’s first time ever in Asia, although she has international experience  volunteering in Uganda. That trip inspired her to travel before university, but the pandemic interfered. Not to be stopped adventuring, Kaitlin worked as an Outdoor Adventure instructor and Welfare Officer at PGL before university and then spent university summers building even more experience there.

Kaitlin also enjoys exploring the world of crafts with watercolour painting and crochet. She graduated with a BSc in Sport Science and Coaching from Nottingham Trent University, with the goal of becoming an elite gymnastics coach. MCM is another stepping stone in her ambitions and she is really looking forward to spending lots of time learning from Laura and the teams’ successes here.

Ruby Wride

As a former sixth-form boarder, Ruby is thrilled to be supporting the boarders in Steele House at MCM. After finishing sixth form, I took a gap year and worked at a prep school before getting my BA in Media and International Development from the University of East Anglia. That Prep School was Mr Wilson’s so we know Ruby comes highly recommended.

Ruby is very excited to be joining MCM. A qualified life guard, she will be supporting many sports activities and learning in the classroom too. We know Ruby will be a great asset to the Pre-Prep and Prep Sports lessons and BAS Clubs.

Pippa Blossom

Pippa is our newest link to MCUK. Having lived in Marlborough, UK, her entire life, Marlborough College has been central to her upbringing, with both of her parents working there. At 13, Pippa joined Shell at Marlborough College, fully boarding in Ivy House, and became Head of House in her Upper Sixth year. This was followed by being accepted to the University of Nottingham to study History, in which she has just graduated.

Pippa says her Marlborough journey now feels complete as she has made the transfer to MCM. She is excited to get involved with the PE and History departments as well as the pre-prep school.

Alfie Filmore

Alfie is an experienced graduate assistant having worked with our previous Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant Ethan Preddy last year. A rugby fan who studied at Hartpury, he brings a passion for all sports to his role here at MCM. He already has plans for playing in Malaysia, but has assured us he will stay injury free.

Alfie is also keen to become involved in the Maths Departments at the College as he plans to train as aMaths teacher in the future.  Having been brought up in Southampton, he supports Southampton football club and is a dog lover.

Claudia Bullock

Another graduate from Nottingham Trent University, Claudia brings a degree in Sport and Exercise Science to MCM. The course included a year in industry where she spent a year as a Sports Intern at another British independent boarding school and loved her experience. She is very excited about being involved in boarding again and is looking forward to contributing to Honan House.

She brings experience of working with children of all ages and is particularly passionate about tennis which she played throughout school and at university.

Ned Mercurio

MCM is very familiar to Ned having attended MCM from 2013 until 2020. A full circle as he starts his career pathway back at the school which, to quote Ned, raised him. He started in year 2 and boarded at Taylor House before heading off to Malvern and an art scholarship in 2020

Ned is looking forward to getting involved in all things dramatic and  artistic – Mrs James already has great plans for him. We have the pleasure of Ned’s company until December after which he has exciting plans before he heads to the University of Bristol to study Marketing.

Ella Mae Cox

Ella Mae, one of our founding pupils is another one completing a Marlborough rich experience. She left us to join Shell in MCUK and is back to enjoy a term working as a gap intern before her next adventures. Ella Mae enjoyed sport here and in the UK. She left us when the pandemic struck and returns with a real passion to contribute to the sports departments.

Ella Mae embraced boarding at MCUK and brings a wonderful enthusiasm for Iskandar and helping the girls settle in so they can enjoy the Marlborough experience as much as she has.
