On Monday, 19th January, the Senior Music Department hosted its first Instrumental Music Recital, featuring Prep pupils from Year 3 to Year 8. The programme ranged from rock guitar solos and Disney favourites to Mozart’s Turkish March and Amazing Grace, before concluding with an exhilarating band performance of Can’t Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The concert was a fitting celebration of both the high standard of instrumental and vocal teaching at the College, and the enthusiasm and passion for music demonstrated by our pupils.
This recital marked the debut performance for several musicians, and it was a pleasure to see them challenge themselves and perform with such enjoyment and confidence on stage.
A huge thank you to Mr Helmi and Ms Stott for their work on sound and lighting, and to Mr Koh, Ms Ong, and Mr Chen for accompanying the musicians, as well as to all the peripatetic teachers who continue to inspire and support their pupils. Congratulations once again to all who performed, and thank you to everyone who attended and enjoyed the concert. We look forward to welcoming you to the next recital in what promises to be an exciting new series.
