Chris was educated at Oundle School before going on to read Rural and Environmental Economics at Newcastle University. Subsequently, he took a mathematics conversion course through Cambridge University, before gaining his PGCE in Mathematics from Homerton College, Cambridge.
Chris began his teaching career at Winchester House in Northamptonshire, England, where he taught mathematics, managed the boys’ boarding house, and led various sports teams, including cricket, rugby, hockey, and squash. He was heavily involved in outdoor activities, organizing residential camping trips and various school excursions. At Winchester House, Chris met his wife Hayley, and they have two children, Amelia and Florence. In 2012, the family moved to Lockers Park in Hertfordshire, where Chris served as Deputy Head before becoming Headmaster. In 2021, he moved to Town Close as Headmaster. Chris enjoys outdoor pursuits, particularly cricket and golf, and has been active in alumni and cricket club activities.
