Consistently high achievement in IB along with outstanding application support has meant that students have entered some of the world’s leading universities. Based on the QS rankings of 2019, MCM students received offers from 20 of the world’s top 100 universities, including Oxford, Imperial and London School of Economics in the UK; McGill, University of British Columbia, and the University of Toronto in Canada; University of Melbourne, Australia; École Polytechnique, France; KAIST in Korea and UCLA in the United States. The College runs a comprehensive programme to help students to apply to university, including our own University Fair, and an interactive Careers Fair, where our students benefit enormously from the vast array of expertise and experience of our hugely supportive parent body. The College is very fortunate to have regular visits from international university representatives, who deliver highly informative lunch-time talks. We also expose our students to as much information and advice as possible, with the most recent events focussing on Art & Design.
We offer student access to our user-friendly online portal, Unifrog, for students to undertake some psychometric testing. This will provide a Myers Briggs type profile and point them towards careers and subject libraries to assist in their post-IGCSE/IB decision-making process. We pride ourselves in the constant personalised and individual support we provide. The University Guidance Department here at Marlborough College Malaysia takes its international context very seriously and makes every effort to prepare our students for the various international university application platforms, supported by the latest global university software. We run UCAS Personal Statement workshops, Mock Interview Mornings, and PSAT testing in preparation for the US admissions test, the SAT.
Marlborough College also runs trips to visit its sister school in the UK and tour many UK universities and join in UCAS Conventions. Trips are also arranged to the USA to visit some of the most famous and prestigious colleges in the world, and to appreciate the huge diversity of options available within the USA.
