Senior House Away Day

Last Friday, our Senior Day Houses headed out for their annual House away days, giving pupils across year groups the chance to team up, take on new challenges, and build friendships beyond the classroom.

Sheppard and Butler

Sheppard and Butler travelled to Sinar Eco Resort, near Pekan Nanas, for a joint House away day focused on teamwork and camaraderie. Split into mixed-year groups, pupils kicked off the day with creative identity challenges and ice-breaker games that brought plenty of laughter to participating House members and tutors alike.

Following a hearty lunch, the afternoon commenced with the main event: the legendary Raft Building Challenge. Equipped with bamboo, barrels, and rope, teams set to work engineering vessels capable of staying afloat. Tactical cleverness was on full display, those wise enough to enlist expert guidance from resort staff enjoyed noticeable success, while others disintegrated into hilarious aquatic rescue missions during the energetic race! The day concluded with a well-deserved dip in the pool, leaving pupils with strong cross-year friendships for the year ahead.

Thompson and Wallace

Thompson and Wallace enjoyed a great day at the Lotus Resort in Desaru. The day began with some challenging and fun team races, which tested the pupils’ problem solving skills as much as their speed. After this the groups were sent on a treasure hunt around the large grounds of the resort. Finally, after a tasty lunch there was the opportunity to unwind with some swimming. The highlight for most was an adrenaline fuelled trip on the banana boats and getting thoroughly soaked.

Bickerton and Morley

Bickerton and Morley spent the day in Desaru for the Sibling House Team Building Day. The pupils took part in a series of mixed House team challenges which tested a range of skills including collaboration, communication and problem solving. Highlights included the brick walk, tied – legged race and string basket making and of course lunch by the sea. Congratulations to Poppy, Elliana, Sienna, Maya, Alisha, Aditya, Harman, Mikail and Kenneth who were the eventual overall winners of the day.
