Year 6 | Lower Prep | 10-11 Years

Prep Year Group

As we welcome children into Year 6 we encourage growing independence, resilience and organisation.

The College’s three C’s ‘Compassion, Companionship and Conversation’ are promoted throughout the school day, from reading and newsround during form time in the morning, interaction at break time, lunch with the form beak, year group assemblies and discussions. On Friday afternoon pupils spend time in the library, playing board games, visiting Pre Prep as buddies or creating their ‘Independent Development Plans’.

Year 6 pupils enjoy a full range of activities and extra-curricular clubs are offered at lunch times and in the mornings. In the Lent term, pupils are given the opportunity to perform in the Year 5 and 6 play which is always a highlight of the year.

Pupils are supported by a strong team of tutors, they meet with their tutors twice daily and their pastoral and academic wellbeing is paramount. There is a constant flow of communication between parents, children, form beaks, HMs and other beaks.
