Oxbridge Co-ordinator: Iain WilsonPastoral / Guidance (SS)
Educated at Portsmouth Grammar School and Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, Iain worked as a Tunnel Test Engineer before changing career into teaching, initially lecturing soldiers in Engineering Mathematics and Science before moving into school teaching at Malvern College. At Malvern, as well as teaching IB Higher and A-level Further Maths, being a boarding and Sixth Form tutor, and examining for Edexcel and the IB, he took over the RAF Section of the CCF, and the civilian shooting club. A move to London followed, where he taught at King’s College School Wimbledon, running A-level examinations as well as assisting with expeditions for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the CCF.
When his son Robert was born he returned to his alma mater, teaching Physics as well as Maths and continuing his involvement in CCF and DoE. During his time at Marlborough, Iain has organised the House Maths competition, contributed to IB Higher and Additional Mathematics teaching and continues to examine, moderating the IB coursework for Maths. Iain enjoys the outdoors and travelling as much as possible and is looking forward to exploring Malaysia when Covid permits. He is joined in Malaysia by his wife and two young children, who both attendthe College.
