Head of CAS: Hugues-Arnaud Avlé

Hugues arrived at Marlborough College as a Mathematics beak in August 2020. He graduated from Queen Mary, University of London with a BSc Honours in Mathematics and Statistics before successfully undertaking his PGCE in Mathematics.

Hugues’ first teaching job was at Dartford Grammar School, a selective secondary IB school for boys in Kent, England, where he taught for several years and held the position of IB KS5 Coordinator. Hugues then moved to Panama where he was Head of Mathematics and Key Stage Three Pastoral Lead at King’s College, The British School of Panama. He taught A-level Further Mathematics and was an examiner for Cambridge Further Maths and Edexcel Statistics.

Hugues has a passion for Sports, especially Rugby. He has represented Panama in the men’s Centroamericano Major C Rugby Championship. He also enjoys cycling, hiking,  travelling and travel photography.

Hugues is looking forward to getting involved in the co-curricular programme available at MCM and exploring Asia.
