Thompson House

NON SIBI SED OMNIBUS

Welcome to Thompson House

It is an honour and my great pleasure to be the new Housemaster of Thompson House, the first Day Boys’House at Marlborough College Malaysia. I hope to live up to the outstanding leadership of my predecessor, Mr. Holden, to provide the guidance and support for the boys of Thompson House in order to develop them into well-rounded individuals. Along with my deputy and a fantastic team of tutors, we will oversee the pastoral care of the boys during their time at the College. We aim to encourage every boy to make the most of the many opportunities on offer at Marlborough whilst also achieving their full academic potential. Since its creation in 2014, Thompson House has established a strong identity within the College with our attractive house swipes in midnight blue and pink stripes. We look forward to continuing to compete as a House for honours in the many and varied sporting, musical, creative and academic competitions on offer. Our weekly assemblies provide an opportunity to celebrate the successes of both individuals and the House. It also provides an opportunity to develop our sense of community and our support for each other which underpins the Thompson House motto, ‘Non Sibi Sed Omnibus’ (Not for one’s self but for all). I look forward to welcoming you and your son to Thompson House and working with you to support your son so that he may enjoy his time at Marlborough College Malaysia and fulfill his potential.

Pupils' Perspectives

Pupil Perspective | Thompson House

There are loads of great sporting facilities and good teachers.

Pupil Perspective | Thompson House

The College has a smaller size pupil body than other international schools in Singapore, therefore you get a sense of individuality and independence that you may not receive in other schools.

Pupil Perspective | Thompson House

The range of activities here is very well balanced, with a decent amount of sporting and music activities that will not compromise your studying time. What I like the most about here is the fact that the pupil body is very much integrated and helpful to each other. There isn't much of a sense of hierarchy here in the school, perhaps unlike other schools

Pupil Perspective | Thompson House

The sport is well coached. There are loads of great experiences at this school: travel, sports tournaments, shows to watch, drama showcases are great to both join and watch. The people here are nice.

The school has a very nice atmosphere and good feeling. The students and staff are very hospitable and helpful and the school has a wide range of activities and sports to take part in.
