Welcome to Iskandar House
Welcome to Iskandar House, a home away from home for our young boarders where every girl is nurtured and supported in a caring and purposeful environment. Our dedicated house team and tutors will do our utmost to provide a positive and happy experience of boarding for your daughter.
Iskandar House is the boarding house for Prep Girls in Years 5 to 8. It is a small, friendly and caring community which is conveniently situated next to the Health Centre, Dining Hall, tennis courts, 50 metre pool and athletics track.
Before breakfast each morning, while it is still cool, many of our girls participate in the Early Morning Clubs for swimming, running, fitness, badminton and tennis, all of which are right on our doorstep.
After lessons have ended at 4:15pm, the girls can attend After School Clubs for music and sport, or return directly to the boarding house for check-in and snacks. The Boarders then have a variety of other activities on offer, such as multisport, yoga, board games, climbing, art, creative journaling, knitting, baking and gardening at the MCM Farm. This is followed by supper and prep, supervised by our tutor team.
In the evenings, the girls enjoy socializing with their friends in the Brew Room over toast and milo, or playing pool and table tennis in the Common Room.
At weekends, we organize a full program of events for our Full Boarders both on campus and offsite, often teaming up with the Junior boys from Taylor House. Off-site trips have included visits to shopping malls, cinemas, water parks and museums, both locally and in Singapore. Other popular options include going ice-skating, go-karting, and to the beach.
We encourage the girls to get involved with the huge variety of options available to them in order to increase their range of interests. Our aim is for boarding to be both enjoyable and beneficial to our pupils’ personal growth. My husband, Peter, and our young sons look forward to welcoming your daughter into our extended family.
