Tennis

at Marlborough College Malaysia

Overview

Tennis is a fun and competitive sport in MCM. The goal is to make it fun and interesting for pupils in the beginning then progress to a high-performance level. The coaching programme develops the pupil’s skills and behaviour from beginner, Intermediate to advanced level performance which aims to make tennis easy and fun. We cover pupils from Reception up to Senior school.

Coaches work on building rallying skills; learn basic strokes, scorekeeping, and the rules of tennis. Our tennis team competes with other schools and clubs in both local and international tournaments. Every year we join the Singapore’s Junior Team Tennis League, MCM’s primary tennis tournament and we send our elite players from different age groups to compete in Season 1 to Season 2.

We also host our Straits Tennis Tournaments for 10U, 12U, 14U and 17U age groups, which feature teams from Johor, KL, and Singapore.

Facilities

On campus we have six tennis courts and an indoor area that can hold up to six mini tennis courts as well.

Training

Tennis is one of the active sports for Season 1. There is also a regular morning tennis squad training and after school program and activities sessions available for pupils to further develop skills and improve performance in both individual and group setups.
