Senior and Prep Prize Day 2024

On the final day of the 2023/24 academic year, Marlborough College Malaysia hosted its much-anticipated annual Prize Day, an event marking the culmination of a year filled with outstanding achievements. The celebration brought together pupils, parents, and beaks from both the Prep and Senior Schools, as well as members of the extended community, to honour the hard work and accomplishments of the pupils.

The morning began with Upper Sixth students and parents meeting the Master, Senior Management Team and Council members for a light breakfast before the ceremony started. These pupils left the College to go on study leave and complete their exams, so it was fantastic to see them back at the College with the conversation on how the exams went and their plans for summer before they go to university.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the Master, who greeted Council members, pupils, and parents alike, setting the tone for the day ahead. Following this, Chairman Tunku Ali delivered a compelling speech, highlighting the year’s key milestones and achievements across all three stages of the College, throughout the academic year.

The Master, Mr Burbury, then took to the stage for his address, reflecting on his first year as Master at Marlborough College Malaysia. He shared his insights and experiences, underscoring the sense of community that’s present at the College. He spoke of the dedication displayed by the pupils and expressed his pride in the collective accomplishments of the school.

The Prize Day ceremony celebrated a broad spectrum of achievements. Pupils from both the Prep and Senior Schools were recognised for their excellence in various fields including sports, arts, outreach, drama, music, academic achievement, and attainment. Each year group saw one pupil honoured with the Master’s Award for all-around achievement and progress throughout the year, a prestigious recognition of their hard work and dedication.

Musical performances added a festive atmosphere to the event. The Senior and Prep Orchestras and Choir showcased their talents, while Rachel captivated the audience with a piano solo.

Congratulations are due to all the prize winners across every category and year group.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in August for another year of academic excellence, co-curricular success, and more remarkable achievements.
