MCM’s Got Talent 2024

After the half-term break, Prep pupils returned to an exciting morning with “MCM’s Got Talent.” Loosely based on a famous talent show in the UK, the premise is simple: pupils display their many talents to an audience and a panel of judges. This year, Houses were well represented, with pupils performing a range of songs, dances, and musical pieces for guest judges the Master, Mr Burbury and Mrs Eaton-Jones. The selection process had taken place earlier, so the eight acts should be incredibly proud of themselves for being chosen to perform.

However, there could only be one winner, and for the judges, one act stood out in the younger years’ acts, with Alessandra clinching victory with her performance of “Part Of Your World” from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. For the older years acts, the competition was fierce with K-pop dancing to singing duets. The Year 6 band blew the judges away with their performance of The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s song ‘Something Just Like This’. Mr Burbury kindly remarked both acts were joint winners. All performers should be congratulated for participating and showcasing their confidence and skills.

Thank you to the judges for their difficult decisions and for taking the time out of their schedules. A special thanks to the Pengawas for organising the event; they have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, coordinating rehearsals and creating a running order, and have proved themselves invaluable. Another thank you must go to Miss Jia and Mr Rayyan for singing and entertaining the pupils while the judges conferred with each other.
