Senior House Shout

On the last week of Lent Term, boarding pupils took part in the Senior House shout, a chance for the Senior boarding Houses to come together and perform a song together as a House. Held across the entire College, every phase of the school takes part.

This year was no different with Apollo, Gaia, Atlas and Artemis all stepping out and embracing the challenge. The competition is judged overall on unity and musicality but ultimately it’s a way for pupils to relax and have fun. This year’s theme was 80’s music and pupils explored the different genres of the era.

For Apollo, they sang a rendition of Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing”. Next was Artemis who performed “True Colours by Cyndi Lauper. Atlas was next and they sang Dexy’s Midnight Runner’s “Come on Eileen”.. Finally, it was Gaia who took Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” to the stage.

For Judge Michelle Poh it was a close call, each House had rehearsed and given themselves fully to the performance. But there could only be one winner and for Gaia, they clinched victory. However, every pupil should be proud of the performance they gave. Well done.
