Leavers’ Ball 2024

It was a bittersweet moment for our Upper Sixth students this week as they attended their Leavers’ Ball. The evening was a chance to celebrate the end of the IB programme, acknowledge the students’ hard work and wish them well with future endeavours. Many of these individuals are founding pupils and have shared in the MCM journey from the beginning.  This annual event was a chance for Sixth Form students, parents and beaks to come together and have one last night together as a year group.

As guests arrived they were welcomed with aperitifs and a joyous atmosphere as the Wykeham Hall had been transformed into the perfect backdrop for the evening. Dinner was quickly called and during the meal, the Master, Mr. Burbury gave a speech, followed by Head Prefects, Sara Sim and Alex Weeke who generously thanked staff and beaks for all their hard work in helping them over the past two years. The Head of the Sixth Form, Mr Clements and the Head of the IB Programme, Dr Tomlinson also gave speeches, sharing some happy memories of the year group and the highlights of the year.

Afterwards, guests were entertained with music from BPM, U6 Silver Sounds and DatKidKai who all ensured a full dance floor. The celebration drew to a close amidst a spectacular display of fireworks, serving as a fitting finale to a memorable occasion.
