Basketball – Friday Night Lights 2024

Last Friday, the Prep Sports Hall was transformed into a battleground of hoops and cheers as 18 staff members took on our pupil players in an electrifying basketball showdown.

With parents, staff, and pupils filling the stands, the energy was palpable, and the competition was fierce. Male and female competitions unfolded quarter by quarter, but the excitement didn’t stop there. At halftime, ten brave students stepped up to the challenge in a thrilling free throw “killer” game. After intense rounds of competition, Harry and Gary emerged victorious, claiming their well-deserved halftime prizes.

Passion and sportsmanship were on full display throughout the night, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and excitement. In the end, it was the female staff who claimed victory in their competition, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Meanwhile, the boys’ squad dominated the male competition, proving their prowess on the court.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication and support of our community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Gary, our referee, who kept the game fair and thrilling. Special appreciation also goes to our table officials, Mike and the Razlan brothers, for their tireless efforts behind the scenes. And let’s not forget Oli, whose DJ skills and photography added an extra layer of excitement to the event. But most importantly, we extend our gratitude to all the competitors and participants who brought their A-game and made this event truly unforgettable. Your passion for the sport and the spirit of sportsmanship embody the values we cherish here at MCM.

Last Friday, the students held a staff vs. pupil basketball tournament. All the students and staff who were not participating were invited to watch this fantastic and fun event.

On the court, the pupils and staff played assertively, trying their best to score for their teams, but also with smiles on their faces. Everyone was enjoying the excitement of participating in the game, and the audience was cheering for the team they supported.

In the end, the boys won the match against the staff, but the girls lost to the staff by only a few points. It was a wonderful evening, and we all enjoyed watching the players on the court. We are all looking forward to the next one.

Mavis, Hundred
