International Good Schools Guide

Further to the visit by the International Good Schools Guide in late January, we are delighted to have just received the review and it is now live on their website and we wished to share it with you.

The Good Schools Guide is a premier publication for parents seeking comprehensive information on private school options. This impartial guide rigorously assesses independent schools, both within the UK and on the international stage, and its assessments are solely based on merit, ensuring that inclusion cannot be bought but is earned.

Please enjoy reading the review.

Good Schools Guide Review

The ‘last word’ section sums it up:

The last word

A British independent-style school with flexible boarding options to boot. While the brand name, vast grounds and facilities speak for themselves, make no mistake that it’s the school’s ethos, community spirit and well-rounded education that make it special, and one not to be missed.

IN Exhibition 2024

We are proud to be featured in the ‘IN’ Exhibition: an extraordinary collaboration between International schools in Singapore and Malaysia.

This is a showcase of the incredible talent of our versatile visual arts students. Sixteen schools have submitted the work of their finest artists. The result is a series of galleries of stunning paintings, drawings, designs, GIFs and illustrations.

In the age of AI it is vital for us to recognise that human creativity, communication and self-expression is alive and thriving. As always it includes 15 Singapore Schools and us. It is a showcase of all of the best artwork from those schools. Unfortunately a venue couldn’t be found for the exhibition this year – so it is online for all to enjoy.

Marlborough Miles 2024 | 22nd March 2024 | 2.40pm to 4.00pm

We are delighted to invite the Marlborough community to attend the annual Marlborough Miles event on Friday, 22nd March. This year, the event will be a charity walk around the Marlborough Mile to raise funds for the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation, providing assistance and care for cancer patients. Money will be raised through collection buckets on the day, as well as through CAS and Outreach sales and games. Last year, the total amount raised was RM 12,063—a significant contribution to charity.

The entire College will participate in the event, and the walk will commence from two starting points: on Court or from the Prep bus bay shortly after 2:40 pm. The Senior and Pre-prep car parks will be open, but there will be no access to cars around the Mile during the event. The event will close at 4.00pm.

Pupils can be collected from their normal pick-up locations starting at 4:15 pm. Parents not attending the event will be held on Jalan Marlborough until pick-up can commence.

We are looking forward to seeing you all at this terrific community event.

10 Top Tips on Supporting Children with Self-Regulation

As infants, we all rely completely on adults to help us resolve situations that are causing us to become upset or stressed. This is known as co-regulation. The next phase, once autonomy has begun to develop, is called self-regulation: this is when children start to become capable of exercising more control over their impulses and behaviour, and managing their own emotions.

This vital developmental milestone, however, isn’t reached spontaneously. Learning to self-regulate requires sensitive guidance from trusted adults – simply talking with children about their thoughts and feelings, for instance, can ease the route to self-regulation. This week’s guide has some expert tips for supporting children to reach this goal.
