Master’s Art Competition Exhibition

On Thursday evening, the Master’s Lodge opened its doors for the first-ever Master’s Art Competition. This unique event provided pupils across the College with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents, with the added incentive of having their work displayed in the Master’s home for the entire year upon winning.

The theme for this year’s competition, “Artistic Journey,” inspired pupils to delve into their personal and unique experiences, dedicating their efforts to creating artwork that truly captured the essence of the theme. With the enthusiastic participation of over sixty pupils, judging proved to be a formidable task, as each pupil wholeheartedly committed themselves to producing an authentic and meaningful piece of art.

Congratulations to all our participants, extending special recognition to those highly commended, and congratulations to the overall winners from the Senior School, Leyan Alazzawi, and from the Prep School, Rachel Lozano.

MCM Community ‘Pops’ Chorus

We are looking forward to welcoming members of the community to the inaugural rehearsal of the Pops Chorus next Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 8.30pm in the Green Hall (Pre-Prep).  The West Gate will be open for easy access to the Pre-Prep car park.  There will be a short break during the rehearsal for tea and coffee and refreshments will be served following the rehearsal.

The chorus is open to all, regardless of singing experience.  It is free of charge and intended to be as much about singing as it is about having fun meeting new people.

If you wish to attend and have not yet expressed your interest, please complete

THIS Google Form so that we have an idea of the numbers attending.

This is a choir for all in the Iskandar Puteri and Johor Bahru community so please do extend the invitation to family and friends.  We look forward to seeing many familiar and not-so-familiar faces on Tuesday.

Spotlight On: Beagle Hash

Last Friday saw another Beagle Hash take place as participants ran a very soggy race around the College ground and nearby plantation. But how did this MCM tradition start? And where did it get its name? In this week’s Spotlight we take a closer look at this well loved College event.

“ What Children & Young People Need to Know about Free Speech vs Hate Speech”

Freedom of expression is enshrined in international law. Some individuals, however, misunderstand the right to share their opinions as a license to target others. So how do we balance people’s prerogative to have their voice heard against everyone’s right to live in a respectful, inclusive society?

This conflict frequently unfolds in the digital world. Online posters can be falsely accused of hate speech, while actual hate is often defended as merely being ‘free speech’. To help children and young people learn to identify the boundaries and recognise genuine hate speech when they see it, this week’s guide provides some helpful definitions and guidelines.
