JASC Swimming Gala 2023

On Wednesday 4th ctober, the College hosted the first Swimming Gala of the year with some excellent results for the MCM teams. A total of 190 participants from nine different schools took part in the event. The MCM Swimming Squad was well represented with 42 swimmers competing overall.

Our talented swimmers in the U11 girls category made us exceptionally proud. Emilia showcased her prowess in the pool by securing an impressive 3rd place in the fiercely competitive 50m breaststroke event. Meanwhile, Erika displayed her remarkable skills and determination, clinching the 6th position in the same event. In the equally challenging freestyle race, Natalie demonstrated her speed and stamina, earning a commendable 4th place finish.

There were some great results for the U11 boys too. Charlie achieved a brilliant 1st place finish in the 50m backstroke, showcasing his remarkable technique, while Andrea’s dominance was evident in the 50m breaststroke, where he secured another 1st place victory. William A  also demonstrated his skill by achieving a commendable 4th position. In the freestyle event, Charlie continued to impress with a 3rd place finish, closely followed by Jayden in 5th place.

Next, it was time for the U13 races where again, MCM displayed exceptional talent in the pool. 

Alice exhibited her versatility and strength gaining 2nd place in backstroke, breaststroke, and fly events. Lottie secured a respectable 4th position in the freestyle, with Selena not far behind.

In the U13 boys’ category, Lincoln impressed with a 3rd place finish in the backstroke event, and Peter showcased his speed, coming 4th place in the 50m freestyle. The relay team for this age group also shone brightly, securing a commendable 2nd position.

There were also some remarkable performances from our Senior School swimmers. Hannah took the top spot in both the 50m backstroke and fly events for the U18 girls, while Subin and Zahrah added to the success by securing the 4th and 5th positions respectively in the 50m freestyle event. Among the U18 boys, Max impressed with his lightning-fast swim, securing a well-deserved 5th position in the competition, clocking in at just 29 seconds.

These remarkable achievements demonstrate the incredible talent and dedication of our swimmers at Marlborough College Malaysia, and serve as a testament to the hard work and coaching excellence within our swimming program. Congratulations to all our swimmers on their outstanding performances.
