Tioman Dive Trip LT2023
The weekend before the Easter break, pupils from Year 7 to Hundred embarked on a diving adventure to Tioman Island, in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. A total of 22 pupils accompanied by Mr Tolba, Mr and Mrs Cowie, and Mr Lyon were able to enjoy the wonders of the underwater world around Tioman Island whilst further developing their scuba diving skills.
Pupils began their preparations for the trip in February when 18 pupils completed their PADI online theory needed to complete a successful series of dives. They also took part in practical skills training sessions at the College pool over the weekends. The final element of their training took place during the weekend on Tioman Island where they completed their open water dives and achieved their PADI Open Water Diver certifications. All 18 pupils successfully qualified.
“My son was so excited that he was very keen to call me everyday and tell me all about it!”

All pupils took part in a series of dives in the beautiful waters surrounding Tioman Island where they saw many interesting marine creatures including turtles, stingrays, reef fish, and many of our divers even spotted some black tip reef sharks, a beautiful sight.
“My favourite part of the trip was making new friends”
This trip was truly an outdoors adventure for the pupils, as they enjoyed a campfire on the final night, and a hike in the nearby jungle to explore the area and observe local wildlife and plants. Another excellent dive trip for our pupils who are now all fully qualified divers.
