Year 5 and 6 Aladdin Performance

Throughout the Lent Term Years 5 and 6 have been hard at work under the steady guidance of Director, Miss. Favre, to produce their all-singing, all-dancing version of Aladdin. Throughout the term, pupils have auditioned, rehearsed and sang their hearts out to produce a wonderful performance, the first of which took place on the 20th March.

With a set worthy of a West-end play, a cast who not only looked, but sounded the part and the unwaning enthusiasm from all of the staff who supported the production, it was show time. As the lights were lowered, an audience first of Prep School, and then of parents, grandparents and friends waited eagerly for the play to begin.

Retelling the famous story of Disney’s ‘Aladdin,’ pupils performed amongst the set of Ali Baba, the town in which Aladdin lives. Pupils performed multiple musical numbers throughout the performance, recreating Disney favourites such as ‘Friend Like Me’ and ‘A Whole New World’ and introducing songs from the modern remake such as ‘Speechless’.

This performance was an excellent way to enable our Prep pupils to truly engage in Drama, and it resulted in a brilliant production to remember.
