Pancake Day LT2023
On Shrove Tuesday, 21st February, Marlborough College Malaysia held the annual pancake races in both our Prep and Senior Schools. Pupils from every year group took part in the race, competing for House points and pancake victory.
The Prep race began early in the morning. For many, this was the first pancake race they have ever competed in, and although it seems an odd tradition, it is most certainly fun and exciting for all competitors. Learning how to flip a pancake and then racing, the Prep pupils took the competition in their stride, with Seymour claiming ultimate victory.
The Senior race was held around Court with pupils flipping their pancakes four times during each race. Held in a relay style, pupils from each year represented their Houses, cheered on by a large crowd of onlookers, all ready for their House to win gold.
After an excellent performance by Wallace House, pupils paraded in pink for their victory in the girls race. The boys ran a close competition between Thompson and Sheppard, but with a last minute pancake slip-up from Thompson, Sheppard raced to victory.
A huge congratulations to all competitors and Houses on this excellent Pancake Day.
