Kaleb Alam Early Years Workshop

On Wednesday 1st February, Early Years received a visit from Kaleb Alam, a group committed to preserving our rainforests, habitats and planet. Nursery and Reception gathered outside to learn about the importance of mangrove trees, looking at some plants and touching, smelling and observing the roots and leaves.

After peeking into a small mangrove habitat, complete with small crabs and insects, Early Years took some of the mud that the mangroves grow in, and began to play. With the consistency of soft clay, pupils were able to mould it into different shapes, and paint with it on paper. Getting their hands dirty was certainly the best part for pupils as they were able to learn about the habitat whilst getting creative.
