KL Storytelling Workshop

In one of the first events of our 2023 Lent Term, Pre Prep pupils were treated to a wonderful storytelling workshop by the KL Shakespeare Players. Author Lim Soon Heng came to present his book, ‘A Hen-Made Tale’ to the pupils, depicting the story of a group of hens unwilling to lay their eggs.

We were also joined by a second storyteller who presented the story of ‘Ananci and the Magic Pot’, a moral dilemma of who should get a magic bowl of food. The pupils joined in with the stories, making the sounds of farm animals and singing a Caribbean counting song. After the authors left and pupils headed to lunch, the lines ‘mosquito one, mosquito two, mosquito jump in the old man’s shoe’ could be heard in the playground as pupils sang the catchy counting song over again.
