Prep School Michaelmas Half Term Concert 2022

On 12th October the Marlborough College Malaysia community came together to witness musical passion and talent in the Prep School Michaelmas Concert 2022. Parents, pupils, beaks as well as the Master and his wife, Mrs. Stevens, came together for a celebration of musical talent over a range of disciplines.

The evening began with a warm welcome from Head of Prep School, Mrs. Eaton-Jones, and a passionate introduction from Head of Prep Music, Mr. Chitambo, who proceeded to welcome performers to the stage.

Pupils from Years 3 to 8 celebrated their musical accomplishments in a range of disciplines such as piano, violin, cello, guzheng, voice, and flute, among other instruments.

The repertoire was supported by the music department, peripatetic teachers and concert organiser, Mr. Chitambo. The art of music was clearly practised and admired by the pupils who played pieces by Beethoven, Soler and Elgar.

As the evening came to a close with the last pupil, Rachel, playing a moving piano piece by Soler, Mrs. Eaton-Jones thanked students for their appreciation of and passion for music. Pupils took a bow to applause from our audience who then joined the Master, his wife Mrs. Stevens and others for refreshments outside in the setting sun.
