JBI Vs MCM Tournament
On the final weekend before Michaelmas Term’s first exeat, Marlborough College Malaysia hosted JB International Sports Club (JBI) in a College-wide tournament. Taking place throughout Saturday, the competition featured pupils from Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior schools working together against the JBI challenge. And a challenge it was.
JBI is a football club specialising in the development and enhancement of football skills. Many MCM students attend the club to train beyond the time constraints of the school day, however, this weekend MCM pupils competed against JBI in an ultimate football showdown. The matches began bright and early at 9 am starting with our younger Under-7s pupils who scored some brilliant goals, but equally faced some challenges. Starting at this first round of matches, a series of boys and girls games played on the MCM pitches, surrounded by spectators, pupils, staff and parents alike.
This competition was a friendly tournament, however, there were some exceptional performances, particularly from the Under-15 boys. The tournament ended with an MCM staff vs JBI coaches match which, after an early 2-0 lead, MCM eventually lost to JBI with 6-3.
All pupils, staff, parents and spectators thoroughly enjoyed the competition and provided a brilliant chance for pupils to practise their football skills in a friendly and exciting environment.
