Admissions Morning Success

On Saturday 10th September, Marlborough College Malaysia hosted its first admissions open morning of the new academic year. This event welcomes pupils, staff and those not yet in the MCM community for an introduction to life at the College, a tour of the site and a chance to converse with beaks about any questions pertaining to the College and boarding.

The event was attended by a host of people, staff from throughout the College were present, ready and waiting to give tours, answer questions and show everyone what MCM is really about: community, conversation and compassion. Many pupils attended too, acting as co-tour guides, and some performed moving musical pieces on the piano, flute and violin. Finally, many families visited with their children, eager to learn about MCM first-hand.

The morning began with refreshments and a perusal of the artwork displayed in the Wykeham Hall. This was also an excellent opportunity for guests to discuss any queries with staff and meet those who may be teaching their children. The Master then addressed our guests, introducing them to MCM’s history, holistic ethos and academic excellence.

Continuing from this, guests were invited to tour the grounds accompanied by a member of staff and a pupil of MCM. Guests were shown the departments and schools pertinent to their child and met those who would be their Head of School. All groups reconvened on Court after their tours for refreshments on the terrace. The MCM vs JBI football tournament could be seen playing on the pitches in the near distance, and guests were given a chance to reflect on the day and ask any further questions they may have.

Overall, the morning was an enormous success, with those leaving able to consider MCM as the best school for their child: a world-leading British international school that provides academic excellence, physical challenge, personal development, but most of all, a sense of community and spirit which is so important to the MCM life.
