10th Anniversary Tree Planting
On 23rd September Marlborough College Malaysia celebrated the latest in its 10th Anniversary series of events with a commemorative tree planting, symbolising long life and the growth of the college.
The sun shone high in the sky as pupils from across MCM came together as a College to celebrate this event. Speeches by the Head of Prep School, Ms. Eaton Jones, and the Head of Senior School, Mr. Glynn, highlighted the achievements of the College and aspirations for the future. Senior Prefects, Oliver and Wafie also read a poem by Old Marlburian, Siegfried Sassoon, before the tree planting took place. The community of pupils, beaks, Friends of MCM and parents also enjoyed hearing the College’s Tenth anniversary anthem for the first time, performed by the Senior Choir.
Selected pupils representing each year group from across the College helped to plant the tree as well as the Senior Prefects of MCM. Old Marlburian and Head of Prep School English, Ms. Lizzie Allott, and founding pupil, Ella Reynolds, unveiled a commemorative plaque under the tree. It was a momentous occasion for MCM, a sign of strength, continuity and the excellence of the College.
