Junior Physics Olympiad | Remove

In May 2022, six Remove pupils took part in the Junior Physics Olympiad. This was Marlborough College Malaysia’s first foray into this global competition for Year 10 pupils which has around eleven thousand entrants from top schools in the UK and around the world. The participating pupils had to research and learn content from outside the College curriculum, covering topics of Astrophysics and the History of Physics. The enthusiasm with which the pupils accepted the challenge speaks volumes about their willingness to be courageous and take risks.

Our pupils did phenomenally well and achieved a medal ranking. Krisharna scored in the 99th percentile for girls globally (with around 4900 girls taking part) which is an outstanding achievement. She was awarded the Gold Medal for this. The other competitors did exceptionally well too with Krisharni achieving Silver, and Deeksha, Zhi Xin, Eileen, and Janette winning Bronze medals.

The preparations are already underway for the Hundred (Year 11), Lower Sixth (Year 12), and Senior Olympiads, which will take place next academic year when we aim to continue to build on our success and inspire other pupils to become Physics Olympians.
