Year 3 India Day
On Friday 18th March 2022, Year 3 pupils celebrated India Day. The pupils came into school wearing traditional Indian clothes and participated in various activities all aimed at learning more about India and its culture.
The day started with a physically distanced parade around the Pre-Prep and Prep School, where the pupils were able to show off their wonderful outfits. Then throughout the day, the pupils created the Indian flag out of different materials, such as coloured rice and they had a cooking lesson where they made delicious Barfi.
Throughout the day the pupils learnt about different Hindu gods and goddesses. They took virtual tours of some of the monuments of India such as the Taj Mahal and explored the busy streets of New Delhi. This was a fantastic way for the pupils to learn more about Indian culture without leaving their classroom.
The day was a great success and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves in a different culture, bringing their learning to life.
