This year’s celebration of 25 years of World Book Day was a joyous occasion.
Pupils throughout the Pre-Prep and Prep School were immersed in a whole day of engaging cross-curricular reading and story-themed activities. These included a book-tasting event in the English Reading Cafe, Science Sci-Fi quizzes, a wooden spoon character competition and story-telling in Language lessons. The day culminated in a frenzy of activity as pupils put their finishing touches to their ‘dressed doors’, an impressive blend of creativity and teamwork.
In the Senior School, a ‘Who’s Reading’ photograph quiz was displayed, where pupils had to guess which beak(teacher) was hidden behind their reading book. Lessons throughout the day began with five minutes of quiet reading. Pupils were also encouraged to donate books for a book swap cafe that will take place on 9th March, supported by an Outreach cookie and drink sale.
