
The Master on the BMCC Board of Directors
Marlborough College Malaysia is delighted to announce that the Master, Mr A. Stevens, has been elected to the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce’s (BMCC) Board of Directors.
The BMCC represents the interests of British and Malaysian trade relations where they act as facilitators in driving trade relations using their extensive network of members. They are one of the most prolific Chambers in all of Southeast Asia. The Board of Directors represents the very best of businesses in Malaysia.
The Master, Mr Stevens and the CEO and Provost of Heriot-Watt University are the only representatives for education on the Board; they sit alongside fifteen other members. Mr Stevens is highly qualified to take on this role. He was previously Headmaster of an independent boarding school in England for seven years, prior to which he held a range of leadership positions in British independent schools and a commission in the UK Reserve Forces. He occasionally publishes on history, education and leadership and inspects schools for various accreditation bodies.
The Master, Mr Stevens is an active member of the BMCC, chairing the Advocacy Working Group of the BMCC Education (3-18) Committee. He is deeply involved in drafting the BMCC advocacy letters and memorandum to the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and liaises with numerous other Government officials.
