From Nursery to the Upper Sixth there were numerous smiles (under masks) and physical distance hellos as pupils returned to the College. For some pupils, it has been over four months since they have been on the College grounds and seen most of their friends and teachers face to face.
Last night Boarders returned to houses and all new pupils and parents had a chance to listen to talks from their relevant Head of Schools and The Master.
Those pupils who are currently unable to attend College in person will continue to have online learning until a time when they are able to join their classes in person.
It was equally pleasing for all the College staff who have been eagerly preparing for the pupils to return ensuring that all the necessary measures were in operation to run as smoothly as possible, to hear laughter in the corridors and learning echoing from the classrooms.
In the Pre-Prep and Prep School, separate online classes are in operation with the Senior School teachers delivering online lessons alongside lessons in the classrooms.
Pupils arriving from outside of Malaysia are currently taking advantage of the unique MCM quarantine service which is in operation at a local hotel. Pupils, along with parents (if they so wish) are transported from KLIA directly to the hotel to complete their 14 days of quarantine locally with child-friendly menus and MCM staff on hand 24 hours a day.
We hope that all pupils will be together again, making full use of the 90 acres available to them at MCM, very soon.
