Today, at 10 am, the Marlborough College Malaysia community came together – by the power of technology – to watch the first Online Prize Giving Ceremony.
Speeches were given by Tunku Ali, Chairman of the Council for MCM, Mr Alan Stevens, The Master, Head of Schools and Senior Prefects after which prizes were announced and celebrated by pupils and their families across the world.
The Master and Heads of Schools settled down and enjoyed a cup of tea whilst watching the ceremony from their homes, when it went live to everyone this morning, as planned. However, it was hoped it would be from the glorious settings of The Colleges’ grounds, but alas not this year.
Younger pupils from Nursery to Year 2 enjoyed their Prize Giving online earlier in the week in the form of live Google Meets with their teachers and Head of School.
The Prize Giving marks the end to a unique year for MCM. One which has seen tremendous strength, resilience, adaptation and alternative learning within the ever-changing environment.
We wish everyone a restful holiday and look forward to the whole MCM community being back together, on-site, on 25 August.
