Ancient Egypt Day 2019

On Friday, 30th August, the Year 3 corridor was transformed into Ancient Egypt. The pupils came dressed in a variety of costumes ranging from phenomenal Pharaohs, captivating Cleopatras and great gods and goddesses; even the beaks joined in! The Pre-Prep children looked on in awe as we paraded through the school. The day was the start of our exciting Ancient Egypt topic. We started by travelling back in time through the World Wars, the Tudor times and when the Ancient Greeks lived. The children then fully understood how long ago the Ancient Egyptians lived. We were then visited by Mr Ogilvie who worked alongside the children making videos on Apple Clips, whilst others chose to use Green Screen technology or explore Egypt using Google Expeditions. The children were then treated to a range of activities, including mummy wrapping, jewellery making and writing in hieroglyphics.
