All it took was a couple of hours for new friendships to be formed and some serious learning to take place. By the end of the week, we felt like a family and it was hard to say goodbye. This year’s second Marlborough Language Summer School was a big success. There were 35 participants from four different countries (Korea, Japan, China and Malaysia) with ages ranging from three years old to adult. Classes were differentiated to meet the needs and variety of language levels. Students took part in a number of engaging activities that enabled them to learn and gain in confidence while practising communicating in English. Highlights included the students’ visit to Barton Farm, creating puppets, baking and taking part in a dinosaur egg hunt. The week culminated in a fantastic performance given on the Friday which was the perfect showcase of their newly learnt language skills.
