Yayasan Warisan Johor will be the venue for a very special event on Thursday 21st February to mark the launch of Marlborough College Malaysia’s plans to raise funds to provide places for children from Malaysia at this prestigious school in Iskandar Puteri.

Attendees will be greatly honoured by the presence of Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, Permaisuri Johor, which will be an exhibition and sale of a number of artworks by the late Lee Hai Peng, an artist of considerable renown in Johor.   It has been made possible through the generosity of Datin Jennia Wong (Lee Poh Ling), daughter of the late artist, who has very kindly agreed to donate 50% of the proceeds of sale to the College to begin a dedicated bursary fund.  The event will also showcase the art of some of the talented pupils at the College.

The Master of the College, Mr Alan Stevens, commented: ‘We know that a high quality education from Marlborough is life-changing for individuals but bursary provision can transform whole communities.  We are deeply indebted to the Wong family for their generosity in donating proceeds from the sale of the artwork to Marlborough for this purpose.  We are also extremely honoured by Her Majesty’s patronage of the exhibition and her support for our goal of making a Marlborough education accessible to families who could not otherwise consider it.   I am very much looking forward to a wonderful event and would like to thank those who will attend and make a generous contribution to this cause.’
