A selection of MCM’s finest musicians joined over 150 musicians from five other schools belonging to the Association of Malaysian International Schools (AIMS) to take part in the first AIMS Secondary Orchestra and Choir Festival, held at the International School, Park City. The festival was a wonderful experience for all involved, and pupils were put through their paces to prepare a wonderfully varied programme of choral and orchestral music. Highlights of the spectacular concert were the choir’s beautiful rendition of ‘Simple Gifts’ arranged by Alexander L’Estrange, a fabulous performance of the first movement of Mozart’s Symphony no. 25 and the choir and orchestra finale, ‘Mr. Blue Sky’ by the 1970s band, the Electric Light Orchestra.
Marlborough’s musicians excelled themselves over the course of the weekend, and we look forward to further collaborative projects in the near future.
