House Matches and Cross Country

The weather has not been our friend over the past weeks and House matches have been adversely affected. However, we have persevered and found a way around this and the scores are in!

In Year 4, Merlin came out on top for the boys’ rugby and second in the girls’ competition with Chichester just pipping them to first place by winning the girls’ football.

Years 5 and 6 joined together for the boys’ football with Hunt initially dominating proceedings, closely followed by Merlin, with Chichester and Seymour in respective third and fourth positions.  Unfortunately the boys’ football had two cancellations and ended up indoors. However, the competition lost little in its ferocity and Chichester came through just ahead of Hunt. There were many illnesses in the team which had a big influence on the outcome.

In the girls’ indoor touch competitions Merlin came out on top in Year 5 with Seymour taking the honours in Year 7, while the Year 6 netballers also saw a Merlin victory with a Seymour side licking their wounds in second. The titanic battle of Year 8 saw Merlin, again, take victory with Chichester close behind in second.

Overall, Merlin, unsurprisingly, came out on top with 31.5 points, with Chichester second (27), Hunt third (24.5) and Seymour fourth (17).

The House cross country was a different matter though with Hunt dominating the racing and Seymour coming second, with Merlin and Chichester in a draw for third.
