Straits Prep Netball Tournament

MCM hosted its second Straits Prep Netball Tournament on Saturday 10th March 2018. Netball has always been a strength at the College and after a successful season, the girls were looking forward to hosting schools from Johor, Singapore and China.

Despite rainy conditions, the standard of netball was outstanding. The shooting was extremely accurate and kept the scoreboard keepers busy.

Our U13 girls finished in second place, after a brilliant final against Dulwich College. The girls played well throughout the tournament and linked their passes extremely well, providing plenty of opportunities. The MCM U12 team has improved and developed their skills well: they also received a Silver medal, with UWC Dover taking first place. The U11 team were outstanding on the day and only conceded 12 goals throughout, whilst scoring over 50. Huge congratulations to all the girls in the squad, and a well-deserved first place. The U10s were very entertaining to watch and despite a few close matches, they were also able to take first place, which promises a bright future for them and for netball at MCM.

A big thank you to all the teams who travelled from near and far, but especially to Wellington International School, who joined us from Shanghai.

The girls are already excited about next year’s competition.
