Johor International Schools Young Photographer Competition 2017

The final of the Johor International Schools Young Photographer Competition 2017 took place on Saturday 30th September at the Avira offices. This year’s theme was ‘My Treasured Moment’. The top 40 entries were selected by the organisers, printed on a large scale, and displayed on hanging boards along an attractive walk way. MCM was proud to have 18 photographers with artwork in the final competition. Each visitor had three stickers and could vote for their favourite images. Despite an exceptionally busy weekend at the College, a group of our MCM photographers was able to attend the event with Mrs Gallagher, Mr Prime and myself. This included Amandeep, who said, ‘Through the photographs, I got to see what people felt was their treasured moment. I also learned so much when I saw all those different photos’. Mr and Mrs McVeigh came straight from the Straits Rugby tournament and were delighted to arrive in time to hear Uma win ‘Photograph of the Day’. Professional photographers also judged the photographs and Sohana, Jack and Amrit must be congratulated on winning first, second and third places in the Senior Category. They received impressive trophies, cash prizes and huge hampers of treats. All of the MCM entries to the competition can now be seen on display in the Morris Foyer.
