MCM Girls U18A Touch Rugby Fixtures

On Wednesday the 20th of September the U18 A Touch Rugby girls’ team departed the College and headed to Tanglin Trust School, where they played three teams: Tanglin Trust School; Royals; and St Paul’s, a touring team from Australia. The first fixture of the season was against Tanglin A and we scored the first try of the game from a three man ruck followed by a 2 on 1. Unfortunately, Tanglin went on to score three more trys but Marlborough persevered and shut down the rest of their attack.

The next game was against Royals Touch; this was a tight game but Marlborough came out on top with a 3-4 win. All of the girls played very well but there was an exceptional defence by Alex Harkins who won MVP.

The final game of the day was against St Paul’s the touring team from Australia. This was a very tight game but unfortunately the final score was 1-0 to St Paul’s. However, although it was a narrow loss we were lucky enough to play a team from a different region who play a different style of touch and so we all came away from the match having learned something new.

We would like to thank Mrs Riley and Miss Nixon for organising this event and giving the opportunity to play such great teams.
