Prep School Music Recital March 2017

On Tuesday 7th March, over 80 Upper Prep pupils gathered in the LRC to perform at the biggest Prep School Music Recital to date. In addition to the soloist performers, we had various ensembles including our choirs and the Prep School Orchestra, who performed an elegant rendition of Joe Hisaishi’s One Summer’s Day, the main theme from the hit animated film Spirited Away.

The newly-formed Ukulele Orchestra and Percussion Group also took to the stage, led by Mr Shawn and Mr Faris respectively, showcasing what they have been working on over the first half of the Lent term. The audience was also treated to a varied repertoire of hits both classical and modern, including Ghost by Ella Henderson and Panis Angelicus by César Franck.

The Treble Choir brought the evening’s performance to a close wonderfully, with their two-part rendition of Ruth B’s Lost Boy and the classic English folk song Scarborough Fair. Well done to all our performers and thank you to everyone who attended and supported our talented musicians.
