‘Bene Factum’: Well done!
Reports from the British media suggest that the overall pass rate and top grades for IGCSE/GCSE examinations in 2016 has dropped by around 2%. We are delighted that this has not been reflected in the results obtained by this year’s cohort at the College. The Hundred year group which was made up of eighty pupils achieved excellent success; 98% achieving 5A*- C grades, with 60% of all grades being awarded at A*/A level. A quarter of the yeargroup achieved 5A* grades or more. One pupil achieved 10A* and 1A grade, another 9A* and 1A, while two others scored 8A* and 3A grades.
The Master of the College commented: “this is another very strong set of IGCSE results which we are delighted with and we should commend both the pupils and the beaks. The pupils have, from the ‘value added’ data, exceeded our original expectations through their commitment and dedication. This shows that rigorous application and high quality teaching are essential ingredients in the recipe for academic success. Well done to all.”
