STEM Days

One hundred and fifty-eight Shell and Remove pupils were off their normal post examination timetable on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th June to participate in MCM’s first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) days. Competing in mixed year groups of four, they engaged in everything from building wind turbines, to deciphering location codes in a race around the school, from experimenting and testing to find the right mix of chemicals to launch a rocket to researching a post-apocalyptic evacuation to Mars. There was a lot of hard work, a lot of learning and a lot of fun going on over the two days; something that we hope to repeat next year.
