ACSIS Middle School Championships

Following a successful trip to the preliminary athletics meet at TTS in the Lent term, our U12 and U14 athletes were highly anticipating the ACSIS Middle School Athletics Championships. Over the last few weeks, many of the team had gone to great lengths in training before school and at lunchtimes, to ensure that they were fully prepared to compete against some of the top middle school athletes in Singapore. Teams from AIS, SAS, TTS, CIS, NIS, GIIS-EC, GIIS-QT, CHIS, SJII and LFS descended onto the ‘Home of the Eagles’ track at SAS on Saturday 3rd May to battle it out in the hope of claiming as many medals as possible.

Our athletes performed with admirable grit and determination throughout the day, despite the beaming sunshine and undeniable air of fierce competition. It didn’t take long for the presence of the small, yet mighty, MCM team to be felt and the medals started rolling in… By the end of the day, MCM had claimed 20 medals and secured a 4th place finish overall for both the boys’ and girls’ teams. This achievement is extraordinary considering we only took a team of 19 athletes!

Huge congratulations must go to all MCM athletes who contributed to the team performance. There was an incredibly supportive atmosphere and it was humbling to watch such fantastic teamwork and endeavour from all involved.
