Robotic Club

Last week saw the start of the newly-formed Robotics Club.

The students will be taught how to build and program robots using Lego Mindstorm kits. Whilst learning how to make their robots perform different tasks they will be taught about gears, mechanisms, servos and sensors…in fact a whole range of new skills!

The course is being run by a company called Micromech, who have many years’ experience of teaching robotics. It is hoped that the pupils will stay on the course for at least a year so that a progression of skills can be introduced, with the ultimate aim of entering some national and international robotics competitions such as the First Lego League.
